Do you feel overwhelmed by work ? This is one of the best problems you can have: too much work. You need time, build a business or be in a hurry, clients demand your talents, and may feel like you’re looking at a terrifying ski slope. You could say it would be fun even if skiing uphill would take a lot of time and effort, but what if you fall?
I was there. For three years I have worked full time in the content writing business. At 5:00 my second shift begins and the third shift lasts. When the clock strikes midnight, I generally admit it: I’m crazy. Usually, I resist a panic attack and try to move on, but I recently discovered a better way.
This problem is not characteristic of self-evaluators and secondary search engines. It’s easy to bite off more than you can chew on any job, especially if you have a good work ethic and love what you do. It’s hard to say it doesn’t work. So when you feel overwhelmed and notice that the balance between work and life is not balanced, here are five things you can do when you feel overwhelmed by work
Continuous work is a slippery slope for the general well-being and workforce. So take a moment, breathe, or better yet, take a short break when you feel tired, groggy, or trapped. Go to the kitchen for an afternoon snack, take a walk, stretch. By taking a minute or five from your computer to do something refreshing, you can do wonders for your energy, focus, and performance.
2. Set your own deadlines.
It is Monday and your manager or client wants the project to be completed before Friday. Postponing it can be tempting only later in the week; after all, you have four days to do it! Instead of putting off and creating pressure, try setting your own deadline: Wednesday for part of the project and Thursday for the rest. Getting started is the best way to overcome stress, and breaking homework into less intimidating things will improve the quality of your work. And by developing the habit of scheduling personal appointments, it is easier to manage even the last moments.
3. Give yourself mercy.
It’s easy to let small complications spoil it or one mistake will cast doubt on your skills and talents, but everyone makes mistakes, even the most successful people. So, although perfection is impossible, grace is not. If you sleep one morning, don’t meet a deadline, or are distracted and unable to accomplish what you wanted to do one day, don’t worry. No day or deadline will define you, and a break from what went wrong will only make it harder for you to achieve your goals. If you experience failure, focus on what you did that day and show yourself when to get compliments.
4. Do the most important things.
No project is more important than family, friendship and health. Even if you have a difficult period and a lot of work ahead, it is very important to spend time with yourself and the people you love and who love you. It can be a five-minute phone conversation with mom, a short walk with a husband or wife, or a full night with children or friends. Balance work with personal will: 1) be reasonable and 2) remind him of the most important things in life.
5. Trim what is not necessary.
Many of us are still in quarantine and work from our sofas or kitchen tables, and some of us will continue to work from home long after the pandemic ends. Turning is tempting – the TV is in place, just like your phone, but all kinds of screens can interrupt your workday. Reducing screen time will help you be more productive over time, not to mention that you’ll feel better considering how the day went by.
